England’s men won their latest FIH Pro League matches against Argentina and Australia, while England’s women suffered two defeats by Germany.

At the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London, a double from Henry Croft plus goals from Sam Ward, Nick Bandurak and Tom Sorsby earned England a dominant 5-0 win against Argentina on Saturday.

They followed that up with a 4-3 victory against Australia on Sunday as they came back from a goal down to win.

England went behind to a Nathan Ephraums effort but responded with Will Calnan, David Goodfield, Sorsby and Samuel Hooper putting them 4-1 in front.

Despite Ephraums and Ky Willott reducing Australia’s deficit, England held on for a win.

The results put England third in the table on 21 points with six games to go. Second-placed Australia are level on points but have played a game less.

England women were beaten 2-1 and 3-0 by Germany and are seventh in the table on seven points with six games left.

Both England teams play their remaining FIH Pro League games at Lee Valley and are next in action on Saturday, 20 June when the men face Argentina and the women play Australia.
