Trump’s dominant election win is laid out in chart showing him gaining popularity in all but ONE state
While two states – Arizona and Nevada – are still tabulating their final ballots, Trump is leading both with the majority counted. And he already holds 295 of the 270 Electoral College votes needed to secure a victory, so the results there won’t make a difference.
And even in most of the states that went blue, Trump’s margin of support improved.
Kamala Harris’ defeat is evidence of the ‘waning influence’ of two Democratic kingmakers
Jon Michael Raasch, Political Reporter for DailyMail.com in Washington, D.C.
Kamala Harris’ sweeping loss to Donald Trump is evidence that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer’s grip on power is slipping away say experts.
Republicans are on course to completely sweep power in Washington, D.C. – taking control of the White House, Senate and House of Representatives.
And critics are saying it’s evidence that the Democrats’ top party power brokers Pelosi, 84, and Schumer, 73, are losing influence.
‘The influences of a Schumer or a Pelosi or a movie star or an Obama deciding to anoint somebody – those guys are gone,’ businessman Kevin O’Leary said this week. ‘In four years, they won’t have that kind of influence.’
Some Republicans are even attributing the major Democratic losses, from the top of the ticket to the Senate flipping red, directly to former Speaker Pelosi.
White House – Biden believes stepping aside was ‘right decision’
Joe Biden believes stepping aside during the election campaign was the ‘right decision’, the White House said today.
Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre gave a briefing to reporters after the President appeared in the rose garden to address the nation for the first time in public since Donald Trump’s election victory.
Kamala Harris – ‘For the people. Always.’
The emotional vice president told crowds in Washington D.C. ‘this is not what we wanted’ in a speech almost 12 hours after the race was officially called for the former president.
Harris, however, also vowed to help with the peaceful transfer of power even as she said she would continue the battle after Trump’s dominant victory.
Watch: University of Oregon tells Trump supporters to kill themselves
A University of Oregon employee has posted a video telling Trump voters to kill themselves following his electoral win this week.
Leonard Serrato, who works as Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at the school, posted the inflammatory video on his Instagram, which he has since made private.
‘I’m done crying. My sadness is over. My anger has set in,’ Serrato said as he described himself as a ‘proudly petty person.’
He continued: ‘I’m saying this in the most disrespectful way possible – I don’t care if you are my family, I don’t care if you are my friend, I don’t care if we’ve been friends our entire lives – You can literally go f**ck yourself if you voted for Donald Trump.
‘If you are so sad about your groceries being expensive, get a f*****g better paying job. Do better in life. Get a f****g education. Do something, cause you’re f*****g stupid.’

McCormick campaign expects a victory in Pennsylvania Senate race
Republican David McCormick’s campaign anticipates a victory in the Pennsylvania Senate race with the ousting of Senator Bob Casey.
The race remains too close to call but his campaign put out a statement saying when it is all said and done, McCormick will be the next senator of the Keystone State.
However, Casey’s campaign pointed out that the race is within half a point, which triggers an automatic recount in the state as tens of thousands of votes remain to be counted.
Trump gives update on future of Fed boss Jerome Powell
Trump has often voiced his frustrations with Jerome Powell and even threatened to remove him from his role as fed chair – an unprecedented move for any president.
Sources close to the President-elect say he will allow Powell to see out the remainder of his term, which expires in May 2026, according to CNN.
While Trump could still change his mind, the current thinking among him and his economic team is that Powell will remain at the helm of the central bank as it works to slash interest rates.
Powell, a Republican with a background in private equity, was originally appointed to lead the Fed by Trump in 2018. President Joe Biden later reappointed him for a second term
The news comes as the Fed is expected to reduce its benchmark policy rate by a quarter of a percentage point at the end of its policy meeting today.

Two blue House seats flip red in Pennsylvania, edging GOP closer to supermajority
Jon Michael Raasch, Political Reporter for DailyMail.com in Washington, D.C.
Two Democratic House lawmakers dramatically lost their reelection bids, the Associated Press reported Thursday afternoon.
Reps. Susan Wild and Matt Cartwright, who have served since 2018 and 2019, lost to Republican challengers.
The two seats flipped edge the GOP closer to control of the chamber, which they have held since 2023. Currently, Republicans hold 210 seats to Democrats’ 194, and 31 races have yet to be called.
Whoever gets 218 seats or more will have control over the House.
If Republicans maintain control of the chamber it means Donald Trump and his party will have a supermajority in Washington, which means he will more easily be able to achieve his MAGA objectives.
MSNBC star Rachel Maddow mocked over anti-Trump monologue
Rachel Maddow is being mocked for her anti-Donald Trump monologue in which she warned the US was headed for an autocratic government after his resounding election victory.
She likened the outcome to those seen in countries such as North Korea, Russia and China as she urged Democrats not to become, ‘despondent’.
‘Now we can work on being fricking pirates. We can work on being a thorn in the side to anyone who tries to turn this country into some tin-pot tyranny.
However, she was instantly derided online with many viewers calling out her ‘hyperbole’.

Gavin Newsom calls emergency meeting as he braces for Trump’s return
California Governor Gavin Newsom has called a special session of state lawmakers to protect liberal policies from Donald Trump.

Controversial billionaire makes bid for major role in Trump’s cabinet
A billionaire hedge fund boss is positioning himself to become Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary.
Scott Bessent – who previously served as an economic adviser to Trump – is currently vetting potential candidates for a deputy role, The Financial Times reported.
The news comes the day after JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, often called America’s most powerful banker, ruled himself out of consideration for the role.
Although Bessent – who stirred controversy over his financial backing of a conservative publishing house – hasn’t confirmed an interest in joining Trump’s cabinet, he hinted at his willingness on Wednesday.
‘I’m going to do whatever president Trump asks,’ he told CNBC when asked if he would serve in the administration.

He is projected to win according to the Associated Press which reports that 99 percent of the count had been returned.
The support surpassed the high levels seen even in 2020 when Trump received almost 70 percent of votes.

Trump even beat Kamala in her VP pick Tim Walz’s home district
Boosting the notion that either Tim Walz was a bad pick as running mate for Kamala Harris or that running mates just don’t matter in presidential elections – the Minnesota governor’s home district was won by Republican President-elect Donald Trump.
Trump won Minnesota’s rural Blue Earth County by a margin of 49.6 percent to 48.3 percent over Harris, marking a swing of 5.7 percent from four years ago.
That despite Walz having lived there for two decades and launching his political career in the area, the National Review noted Thursday.
He flipped Minny’s 1st Congressional District – which includes the county – in 2006 and served as its congressman for 12 years. But he shifted from a moderate Democrat to progressive governor, and that likely didn’t play well in the rural area where his homespun nature is more commonplace.
In addition, DailyMail.com revealed details of a ‘secret fling’ he carried on with a Communist China woman back when he was a teacher on the Chinese mainland in 1989.

The ‘Squad’ member said the U.S. is entering a political period that will have consequences ‘for the rest of our lives.’
‘We find ourselves I believe in a time where there are lets say peers in history of massive movements of people that mobilize to protect one another in times of fascism and authoritarianism. And this is the era that we are poised to enter,’ AOC said.

Biden’s shock olive branch to Trump
The 81-year-old commander-in-chief extended the olive branch to the president-elect a week after calling his supporters ‘garbage’ and hours after he was confirmed as his successor.
The White House confirmed Biden and Trump spoke on the phone on Wednesday afternoon and ’emphasized the importance of working to bring the country together’ as well as a ‘smooth transition’.
It was a similar tone Kamala Harris took when she called the 78-year-old to finally concede the election after Trump swept the majority of the swing states.
Trump and Biden frequently exchanged very personal jabs during the campaign, with the Republican targeting the president’s decline and the Democrat saying he was the sort of person he would like to ‘smack in the a**’.

Arizona and Nevada still aren’t called for Trump
Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter in Las Vegas, Nevada
Presidential election results are still unknown in the western swing states of Nevada and Arizona.
The Associated Press has still not called the race one way or the other as of Thursday morning – though it doesn’t matter since Trump has more than enough Electoral College votes to take a victory without the two states.
With 90 percent of the vote counted in Nevada, Trump is ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris by 3.8 percent.
And with 69 percent tabulated in Arizona, Trump leads by 5.5 percent.
With the other 48 states already counted, Trump has won the 2024 election with 295 Electoral College votes so far.
Pollster J. Ann Selzer breaks silence on Iowa prediction
J. Ann Selzer, a famed pollster previously known for her accurate predictions in Iowa, told the Des Moines Register on Tuesday she was ‘thinking about how we got where we are.’
‘The poll findings we produced for The Des Moines Register and Mediacom did not match what the Iowa electorate ultimately decided in the voting booth today,’ she said.
‘I’ll be reviewing data from multiple sources with hopes of learning why that happened, and I welcome what that process might teach me.’
Selzer’s poll for the Register and Mediacom days before the election predicted Harris would win by +3 percentage points.
But Donald Trump went on to trounce the vice president by over +13 points in the Hawkeye State.
Democrats round on George Clooney after Trump’s election victory
Devastated Democrats have rounded on George Clooney after the actor demanded that Joe Biden quit before Donald Trump’s election victory.

Exclusive:How Trump learned the lessons of election defeat
Donald Trump’s campaign pollster said there was one key difference between the candidate who lost in 2020 and who won in 2024: He had tasted the bitterness of defeat and was prepared to do whatever necessary to retake the White House.
So when John McLaughlin and key campaign figures developed a strategy to cut off the four demographic pillars supporting Democrats, he was listening.
‘Trump, is still Trump, but if you told him something you know that he needed to do to win he was gonna do it,’ McLaughlin told DailyMail.com.
A devastated Kamala Harris told her scores of tearful fans to keep fighting as she conceded election defeat to Donald Trump in Washington, D.C.
The emotional vice president admitted ‘this is not what we wanted’ as she took the stage at Howard University, almost 12 hours after the race was officially called for the former president.
Harris, however, also vowed to help with the peaceful transfer of power even as she said she would continue the battle after Trump’s dominant victory.
Who lame-duck Joe Biden blames for Kamala’s catastrophic defeat
The people surrounding Joe Biden blame Nancy Pelosi for Kamala Harris’ election loss as Democrats have begun to bicker over who caused the party’s disaster.
It came as the president, 82, reacted to Harris’ concession speech at Howard University Wednesday.
The blame game went into overdrive last night, as Biden confidantes told senior White House reporters they hold the former Speaker of the House responsible for him being pushed out of the race.

What Trump could do with a Republican clean sweep
If Republicans win back the House, they would control the legislative, executive, and the judicial branches of the federal government fully during Trump’s first years in office, giving him sweeping control after he was voted out just four years ago.
Republicans may also take more robust action against transgender issues involving schools and sports, which Trump and the GOP have spoken about often on the campaign trails.
Already with control of the Senate Republicans will be able to dictate approvals of federal judges and cabinet positions like Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense.
If a Supreme Court vacancy arrises, the Senate handles that, too.
During Trump’s last presidency the Senate was controlled by the GOP, and the former president was able to help appoint three of the court’s nine sitting justices – which has had a major impact on the ideological slant of the body.
Republican supermajority could soon sweep Washington
Though Republicans have been named the winners of the White House and Senate, some races in the House of Representatives may take days if not weeks to call.
The GOP also gained control over the Senate after flipping multiple seats red, with some races still yet to be finalized and pick-up opportunities still on the table.
Republicans now need to maintain control over the House to have a full supermajority in Washington, D.C., which would have major consequences for Democrats.
