Lucky losers Luton Town face a potential home tie with Northampton Town in the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy.

The Hatters were beaten by Swindon Town in the quarter-finals but reinstated when it was found the Wiltshire club had fielded two ineligible players in their 2-1 victory at Kenilworth Road.

Jack Wilshere’s side will now host Plymouth Argyle in the rescheduled last-eight tie on Tuesday, 24 February for the right to meet Northampton for a place at Wembley in April.

The Cobblers, who have never reached the final of the competition, were 2-1 winners at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday but will have to wait a little longer to discover who they will visit next.

In the other semi-final, 2009 trophy winners Doncaster Rovers will be at home to two-time runners-up Stockport County.

Doncaster made it to the last four by beating Huddersfield 2-0 in a penalty shootout on Tuesday after the game had finished 1-1 while Stockport hammered Port Vale 4-0.

The semi-finals will take place the week commencing 2 March with the final on Sunday, 12 April.
