Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has spoken out to justify his extensive travels during an exceptionally challenging period for his wife, Princess Beatrice, following her father’s loss of his royal titles.

The property developer maintained that the trips were essential for the survival of his company, Banda Property.

Speaking to the Mail, Mr Mapelli Mozzi stated: “As you well know, it is completely normal for a business owner to travel for work. It happens in every industry.”

The father of three has faced scrutiny over his absences while Beatrice navigates the fallout from her father’s public downfall.

In January, Mr Mapelli Mozzi embarked on a three-week business trip across the United States, visiting Los Angeles and Palm Beach in Florida, accompanied by his colleague Holly Payne.

During the extended journey, he shared photographs on social media showing himself appearing relaxed and enjoying wine with Ms Payne.

One post featured him writing: “A quick glass of vino with Holly: easing into the time change and the energy of Coconut Grove.”

Throughout his American travels, Princess Beatrice remained in the United Kingdom caring for the couple’s two young daughters, Sienna and Athena.

Photographs emerged on Instagram a fortnight ago, posted by Piers Morgan, capturing Mr Mapelli Mozzi at Le Club 55, the ultra-exclusive beachfront restaurant in St Tropez renowned for its lavish daytime parties.

He was pictured enjoying an expensive fish lunch with bottles of Domaine La Rouillere Rosé, priced at £100 each, chilled on ice.

His companions included Amanda Holden, Kelly Brook, and nutritionist Gabriela Peacock, who has advised both Prince Harry and King Charles on their diets.

According to the Mail, Beatrice had accompanied her husband to the French Riviera, with Ms Peacock arranging the trip as respite for the princess.

However, after her first day at the restaurant, Beatrice fell ill and spent the following day confined to bed, while Mr Mapelli Mozzi continued socialising without her.

This year has proved particularly difficult for Beatrice as she grapples with the consequences of her father’s fall from grace.

Unlike her sister Eugenie, who reportedly severed contact with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor after his title was removed and he was evicted from Royal Lodge, Beatrice is understood to have maintained her relationship with him.
