Prince William shared a heartwarming moment with a dogwalker who was left in disbelief after bumping into the future king.

The Prince of Wales and former England footballer Jill Scott MBE were shooting a new short film launched by Fields in Trust to celebrate the charity’s centenary.

The dog walker’s labrador ran up to William, checking out the filming that the royal and Ms Scott were conducting.

When calling her dog back, the woman saw the prince exclaiming: “Oh my goodness me!”

William smilingly responded, “it’s alright, don’t worry,” as the trio shared a laugh.

Eventually getting her dog back on the lead and guiding it away from the future king, Ms Scott told the woman: “Have a lovely day.”

The Prince of Wales laughed as he composed himself for the next set of filming.

Royal fans have been reacting to the sweet interaction, with one saying: “Oh my, walking your lab and meeting the future king.”

Another wrote: “Puppy dog knows an unconditional heart when they meet one.”

One other royal fan praised the prince, saying: “His reaction is so genuine.”

The exchange occurred at Windlesham Field of Remembrance Park during production for Fields in Trust, where William serves as the organisation’s patron.

The park is among nearly 3,000 green spaces across the UK that have been permanently safeguarded through the charity’s work.

Fields in Trust released the film to draw attention to the critical role of parks and playing fields in community wellbeing during this landmark anniversary year.

Throughout the film, the pair explore the significance of outdoor spaces for local communities before engaging with residents who use the park regularly.

The footage also shows them taking part in coaching a football session with pupils from a nearby school.

Fields in Trust describes itself as the only UK charity with a sole focus on safeguarding parks, playgrounds, playing fields and other green areas.

The organisation emphasises that its work has become increasingly vital, noting that most of these spaces currently lack any form of legal protection.

Once such land is lost to development, the charity warns, it cannot be recovered.

The charity’s statistics paint a stark picture of the current situation: just six per cent of green space in the UK benefits from legal protection.

Furthermore, half the population resides more than a ten-minute walk from their nearest playing field, whilst a third of children do not have access to a playground within easy reach of their home.

In its YouTube caption accompanying the film, Fields in Trust stated: “We believe access to green space is a right, not a privilege. That’s why we legally protect the UK’s parks, playgrounds, playing fields and green spaces. Forever.”
