GB News host Dawn Neeson has touchingly reflected on her career with Eamonn Holmes after it was announced the veteran broadcaster was recovering in hospital after suffering a stroke.

“I’ve worked with Eamonn for a long, long time. I’ve known him for a long time, and Eamonn is not a quitter,” she told viewers today.

“I always remember that very first day we worked together back in the early 90s, and I was terrified. You were terrified. It’s your first day on the breakfast TV show… But thank you. You put me at ease. Straight away,” Dawn reflected.

The host continued that Eamonn was “recovering well”.

“Everyone here at GB News is sending the very, very best to our breakfast show host Eamonn Holmes,” Dawn added.

In a statement issued today, The People’s Channel announced: “Eamonn was taken ill last week and it was later confirmed he had suffered a stroke. He is currently responding well to treatment.”
