Davina McCall’s husband has issued a statement on the former Big Brother star’s condition after she went in for surgery – leaving thousands relieved.
The TV presenter revealed today she had been diagnosed with a benign colloid cyst, which affects only three in a million people.
In a candid Instagram video, McCall explained that the unexpected discovery came after she underwent a health scan offered in exchange for giving a menopause talk.
“I thought I was going to ace it,” she admitted, before explaining the shocking results.
The TV star disclosed that the tumour measures 14mm wide and requires removal due to potential risks if left to grow.
After consulting multiple neurosurgeons and getting several opinions, McCall acknowledged she could no longer delay treatment.
“It needs to come out because if it grows, it would be bad,” she explained to her followers.
McCall underwent a craniotomy today, a surgical procedure where part of the skull is temporarily removed to access the tumour.
The presenter revealed she will spend approximately nine days in hospital following the operation.
“I’m going to be off my phone for a while,” she told followers, adding: “But I don’t want you to worry about me. I’m doing that enough as it is.”

She expressed confidence in her medical team, stating: “I am in a good space, and I have all the faith in the world in my surgeon and his team, and I am handing the reins over to him.”
McCall’s partner Michael Douglas promised to keep fans updated throughout her recovery.
“She is in great shape and in very good hands,” he wrote on her account, promising occasional updates while she remains “off grid for a bit.”
Keeping true to his word, Douglas recently took to McCall’s Instagram to announce that she was out of surgery which had thankfully gone well.
The post read: “Hey all. Davina is out of surgery and according to the surgeon it was textbook! She’s currently recovering in ICU as a precaution.
“As you can imagine she’s utterly exhausted.
“Thanks so much for all the love from everyone on here. It’s powerful stuff, we are super grateful. Michael.” (sic)
Friends of the star were quick to share their relief that the surgery had gone well, incuding Alan Carr who penned: “So relieved.”
Strictly star Claudia Winkleman said: “Sending so much love.”
Amanda Holden added: “Such a relief, I’ve been thinking about her all day and all of you.” (sic)
