Dara Huang made her first public statement since Princess Beatrice’s emotional essay about her premature birth experience.
The architect and designer, who shares eight-year-old Wolfie with Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, posted a video of her son at the Design Museum.
The timing of Huang’s post comes shortly after Beatrice revealed her “overwhelming fear” surrounding the premature birth of her daughter Athena in January.
Wolfie, who will turn nine on March 28, has become a regular presence at royal events since his father married into the Royal Family.

Huang’s Instagram post was brief, simply stating “@designmuseum today” alongside the video of Wolfie enjoying his museum visit.
The day before the museum outing, Huang hosted a birthday party for her son, whom she co-parents with Edoardo.
While Huang has maintained a relatively low profile regarding royal matters, her timing is notable coming just after Beatrice’s candid essay was published.
Wolfie has been embraced by the Royal Family and has attended several high-profile events, including the Christmas Day service at Sandringham in 2024.
Princess Beatrice has spoken fondly of her stepson, whom she describes as her “bonus child.”
Her Vogue essay detailed her experience of daughter Athena’s premature birth on January 22, several weeks earlier than planned.
“Nothing quite prepares you for the moment when you realise your baby is going to arrive early,” she wrote in the candid piece.
The royal described the “overwhelming fear of the unknown” and “weeks of worry” before Athena’s arrival.
Though her daughter was “tiny” when born, weighing four pounds and five ounces, Beatrice confirmed she is now “doing well” in a significant health update.
The essay was accompanied by new photographs of Beatrice and Edoardo with their newborn daughter.
In the Vogue essay, Beatrice mentioned that she is “already mother to Sienna, three, and stepmother to Wolfie, eight”.
Athena is the third child in the Mapelli Mozzi family, joining Beatrice’s daughter Sienna and Wolfie from Edoardo’s former relationship with Huang.
The family dynamics appear harmonious, with Wolfie regularly included in royal events and family occasions.
Beatrice’s husband Edoardo praised her bravery in sharing their story, writing on Instagram: “So much pride for my beautiful wife, who has bravely shared our story of Athena’s early arrival.”
The Princess also recently became patron of Borne, a UK charity focused on preventing premature births.
