Dan Walker has settled a sexism and bullying claim brought by Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije.

The case, involving ITN and Channel 5, was resolved for an undisclosed sum with no admission of liability.

The tribunal, which was due to last five weeks, was halted after last-minute negotiations.

Ms Vanderpuije has now withdrawn all allegations and confirmed she will not pursue the claims further.

Mr Walker had strongly denied the accusations and was prepared to call multiple character witnesses.

The dispute centred on claims of a “toxic culture” within the Channel 5 newsroom.
