Daddy Yankee has claimed his estranged wife Mireddys González withdrew a sum of $100 million from two of his music companies without his permission.
The reggaetón artist, 47, said in legal docs filed in his native San Juan, Puerto Rico that González took the respective sums of $80 million and $20 million from El Cartel Records and Los Cangris.
The Gasolina vocalist said in legal documents filed Friday and reviewed by Billboard that the withdrawal from Los Cangris directly breached ‘warnings received and express requests that she put a stop to any management and initiative that would compromise the company’s finances.’
The Grammy-nominated rapper, whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, described the transaction as ‘desperate’ and part of a larger pattern of González’s financial misconduct in concert with her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos.
‘It now becomes evident why she has wanted to keep him in the dark and deny him information about the withdrawals and cash movements that she and her sister make behind his back,’ Daddy Yankee’s legal team told the court.
The Despacito performer made the accusations against his former spouse, her sister and El Cartel Records in a pair of injunctions filed Friday.

Daddy Yankee founded El Cartel Records, with González appointed CEO, while her sibling has worked as a secretary-treasurer.
Daddy Yankee said that he currently ‘lacks access, interference and information’ about the musical subsidiary which he created and is ‘entitled’ to.
Daddy Yankee requested the court immediately revoke all administrative powers for González and González Castellanos involving El Cartel Records.
He is also asking for the court to force González and González Castellanos to provide ‘the information and documentation that they have illegitimately withheld’ amid their business dealings.
Daddy Yankee said that actions taken by González and González Castellanos have ‘resulted in a detrimental and negligent performance for the company’ in their efforts to consolidate their power.
González and González Castellanos ‘failed to render an accurate account of their actions, disregarded formalities and requirements of the corporate legislation [and made] irresponsible financial decisions’ in their tenures at the record company, Daddy Yankee said in court documents.
Daddy Yankee told the court that González oversaw a transaction conducted by a third party in October which saw rights to his material sold to Concord for a $217 million sum he deemed ‘unreasonable, disproportionate and far below the real value.’
Daddy Yankee said that González intentionally kept information from him and that he ‘was not provided with a copy of all the contract documents, and to this day he does not know the real scope of the transaction, nor does he have detailed knowledge of what was or was not sold, nor the limitations he may have on the use of his musical creations.’

Daddy Yankee said in legal documents that he ‘signed the agreement, under the advice of that third party and the defendants.’
Daddy Yankee told the court that González and González Castellanos withdrew the $100 million total after he had stripped them of any decision-making powers for El Cartel Records and ‘warned that they could not carry out any transactions on behalf of’ the company.
Daddy Yankee’s lawyers said that ‘a bank transfer was made’ illegally, ‘withdrawing … eighty million dollars from the corporate account of the entity’ in the first of two transactions.
The couple earlier this month announced they were parting ways, as he commented on the split on Instagram Stories on December 2.
‘With a heart full of respect and honesty, I want to share some important news about my personal life,’ he said. ‘After more than two decades of marriage and after many months of trying to save my marriage, which my wife and I share, today my lawyers respond to the divorce petition received by Mireddys.’
The estranged couple, who married in 1995, are parents to daughter Jesaaelys, 28, and son Jeremy, 26, while he is also father to daughter Yamilet from a prior romance.
Speaking to Billboard in 2021, Daddy Yankee said of his spouse’s involvement in their business, ‘She’s the boss. She has always been the boss.’
