A migrant housed at Crowborough camp has been arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.
The material was allegedly found on the man’s phone.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) confirmed to the Daily Express that “a man in his twenties was arrested in the Crowborough area on July 10 on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children”.
The spokesman added: “It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.”
Around 540 male asylum seekers are currently being accommodated by the Home Office.
Officers in the camp had spoken to the man about his bail conditions, according to the publication.
