The victim of a fatal pub shooting in Clapham on Monday has been named.

Auguste-Marie Bile-aka Amoa was named by the Metropolitan Police as the victim of the attack, of a shooting at the Landor pub on Willington Road.

Shortly after the shooting, a 22-year-old man attended hospital with a gunshot wound and was arrested on suspicion of murder, according to the force.

Mr Amoa, 25, worked as a bus driver.

Gunshots were heard near the venue in Willington Road, Clapham, on Monday evening.

The suspect remains in hospital under police guard.

Detective chief inspector Claire Guiver, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with Bile-aka’s family as they come to terms with this tragic incident.

“We continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

“If you were in the area at the time of the shooting, witnessed anything suspicious or have any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage that could assist our investigation, we urge you to get in touch.

“Any piece of information could prove vital in helping us piece together the full circumstances.”

Witnesses spoke to GB News about their shock at the scene outside the pub.

Grace, a nearby resident, told the People’s Channel: “I heard around four to five popping noises in quick succession while I was reversing my car on Tasman Road at around 9.57pm.

“I turned into Landor Road and saw someone on a moped on the wrong side of the road who then moved over onto the right side as I turned to drive along the road.

“I then see three people bent over, running for safety in The Landor pub.

“At which point a car pulls up to turn out of Willington Road, which I believe was a white BMW.”

Speaking near the scene, a friend of the victim described him as a “cool guy”, adding that he believed the death was the result of “wrong place, wrong time”.

He said: “I don’t have bad things to say about him.

“He’s a cool guy, like I said, bus driver, hard-working.

“It’s shocking because of who he is and his character.”

The man, who also works as a bus driver, said the death is “going to hurt a lot of people”.
