Christina Aguilera shut down critics in a fiery Instagram post on Tuesday.
As the 44-year-old music artist prepared to wrap up the year on New Year’s Eve, she delivered a poignant message to her 10 million followers.
Captioning a video montage that began with various social media comments people have left on her posts — including speculation about her recent weight loss — she wrote, ‘This year, doing something a little different.
‘This is a reminder to everyone that you are your OWN STORYTELLER in your OWN LIFE. No one else can dictate who you are.’
And she added defiantly, ‘No one deserves an explanation. I am evolved enough to know that nothing comes easy and no one is perfect. Everyone will judge you. No matter WHAT you do. And/or what you don’t do.’
The mother-of-two continued, ‘Acceptance comes with accepting yourself first. And the difficult journey it takes sometimes to get there.’

Captioning a video montage that began with various social media comments people have left on her posts – including speculation about her recent weight loss – she wrote in part, ‘No one deserves an explanation. I am evolved enough to know that nothing comes easy and no one is perfect’
Hours before the clock carries us into 2025, she added, ‘I celebrate everyone taking the time to put one step in front of the next every day in order to build the next version of themselves for the better. Allowing yourself grace, patience and respect…’
Aguilera shed a noticeable amount of weight this year, with some raising suspicion that she’s turned to the popular weight loss and diabetes drug Ozempic.
She’s also been questioned about her ever-youthful appearance, with some guessing that she’s had a facelift.
Although she has not directly responded to the claims, Christina remarked during an August interview with Glamour that she no longer ‘gives a f***’ about public scrutiny.
‘I have a maturity now where I just don’t give a f*** about your opinion. I’m not going to take it on,’ she told the glossy.
She emphasized, ‘It must be your responsibility to take up your space.
‘Other people’s opinions of me are not my business.’
She explained, ‘When you’re a teenager, you have a very different body than when you’re in your 20s.
‘I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, “Oh, she’s getting thicker.” Then I had industry people [say]: “They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager.”‘

She uploaded a slew of outtakes from the year, beginning with a black and white snapshot of her curled up on a rug in a music studio.
Combining the year and her age, she started the noted, ’24/44.’
Then she added, ‘Wrapping up the year, my takeaways are:
Be grateful for what you have and another year spent on this earth. Every year is a blessing and should be recognized for all you’ve accomplished. Cherish the ones you love. Don’t let them forget it.’
The sage songstress went on, ‘Hold tight and honor what truly matters. Don’t lose yourself in someone else. Be true to yourself first and foremost. Be the lesson you want to receive. And receive the lesson you resist.’

‘You are never alone. You are never done. Nothing can defeat you. You were born to survive and thrive through anything life throws your way,’ the singer insisted.
Elsewhere in the lengthy note, she added, ‘We are meant to learn and evolve into the next version of ourselves. Don’t live in the future. Don’t dwell on the past. Be in the present.’
To wrap up the advice, she said, ‘Always embrace change. Thank you, 2024.’
