The UK has recorded more than 350,000 new car sales in a bumper September, with some of the most popular models soaring into the best-selling list.

Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders shows year-on-year sales of new cars jumped an impressive 12 per cent as drivers made the most of “new reg plate month”.

The new “76” plate has boosted sales, with electric vehicles capturing a record 99,201 registrations, and Chinese brands captured a huge share of the market.

GB News has rounded up the 10 best-selling cars in the UK in September, according to figures from the SMMT.
