Chelsea fans have hit out at Todd Boehly after the club installed a makeshift hotel room on a balcony in the Matthew Harding Stand as part of an advertising campaign for Hilton Hotels.
It was announced last summer that Hilton Hotels would become the Premier League club’s global hotel partner.
On Monday, Chelsea Women posted a video on their X (formerly Twitter) account ahead of their Women’s Super League match against Man United on Monday, showing off the makeshift hotel room.
It featured a bed, a wall-mounted television and several ‘Hilton’ branded dressing gowns hung on a coat stand.
The advertising campaign comes just a week after Blues fans were left confused after a group of men, wearing green velvet jackets, stood up in behind the dugout during their game against Fulham at Stamford Bridge.

Much to the bewilderment of many Chelsea supporters, the group of men started brushing their teeth. They were also seen each reading a book.
It was later revealed that the stunt was part of a promotion for the new film Argylle. But Chelsea fans were not impressed by the stunt.
Equally, some fans have hit out at Todd Boehly following the addition of the makeshift hotel room to the Matthew Harding Stand.
One wrote: ‘Matthew Harding funded that stand and it is a special end for true, old school Chelsea fans. To replace seats for advertising is absolutely shameful. Added to the ‘Boehly just doesn’t get it’ list.’
The campaign was for the club’s global hotel partner Hilton Hotels, who have been working with Chelsea since last summeer

Some fans took to the social media account to point out that there were no seats in that area of the ground before. but the supporter added: ‘If you’re saying “there were no seats there” ok, but you are missing the point entirely.
‘A bed – in the main area of the ground where loyal season ticket holders have sat for years. It’s cringeworthy and if you don’t find it embarrassing, then I give up.’
Emma Hayes’ side will also be back in action at Stamford Bridge on Wendesday as they take on Real Madrid in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Meanwhile, the men’s team are back in action in West London on Tuesday, as they take on Middlesbrough in the second leg of their EFL Cup tie. They will return to play again at Stamford Bridge on Friday in their fourth-round FA Cup clash against Aston Villa.
