Warrington have been runners-up at Wembley in the past two seasons, but their 100% start to 2026 continued against Goole, the lowest side left in the Challenge Cup.

A Cooper Howlett try briefly had the Vikings level at 6-6 in the match, which the side from Humberside had chosen to switch to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

But that was a minor blip on an afternoon when the Super League side ran in 13 tries, with two each for Jake Thewlis and Josh Smith, and nine other players grabbing one, while Chris Irwin had an impressive 100% success rate with his conversions.

York have made a good start on their Super League debut, with two wins from four matches, and they can now add a Challenge Cup quarter-final place to that.

They were far too strong at home to Keighley, with doubles for Liam Harris and King Vuniyayawa amongst their 10 tries.

The Cougars’ consolation efforts came from Brad Holroyd and George Flanagan Sr, the 39-year-old father of Huddersfield full-back George.

There was no consolation for fellow Championship side Oldham on their trip to the south of France, with Catalans in a ruthless mood.

There were 11 unanswered tries from the hosts, with French teenager Marc Lenny leading the way with a hat-trick as the Dragons advanced to the last eight for the third successive season.
