Success at Wembley last June ended a 45-year wait to lift the Challenge Cup for Hull KR and was the start of a remarkable run which saw them win four trophies in eight months.

But they did lose to quarter-final opponents York in the Knights’ first ever Super League game last month.

Wakefield last won this competition in 1963, but to reach the last four, they will have to get past record 20-time winners Wigan, who have a 100% record in all competitions in 2026.

It is another blockbuster tie for Trinity which has already whetted the appetite of their owner Matt Ellis.

“If we want to go on and win it, getting Wigan down here is part of the journey,” Ellis told Radio Leeds.

“Absolutely excited, I think we’ll pack it out. Beating a class team like Wigan, we need to be down here really with full support behind us.”

Wigan’s impressive run of form this year is matched by Warrington, who face a Leigh side that is struggling in the league, while St Helens will be confident of seeing off Catalans at home to reach the last four for the first time since 2023 under new coach Paul Rowley.
