The Prince and Princess of Wales’s official X social media account, @KensingtonRoyal, published a Halloween photograph of Prince Louis posing outdoors with an orange pumpkin.
The shared image shows Prince Louis at age one, dressed in a navy blue hooded jacket and red boots, leaning down with both hands resting on a large pumpkin on a patch of dirt and moss.
The photograph was taken directly by Catherine, Princess of Wales.
The caption alongside the image reads: “Happy Halloween!”, followed by: “Prince Louis, aged 1, photographed by The Princess of Wales.”
Official public Halloween messages on the Waleses’ social media channels are extremely rare.
While the Prince and Princess of Wales have not routinely issued public Halloween messages in past years, family observances off-camera have been documented.
In October 2019, the Princess of Wales was seen in a Sainsbury’s in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, near Anmer Hall, browsing Halloween costumes with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
In October 2022, local residents in London reported that the Princess of Wales took her children trick-or-treating in their Kensington neighbourhood, with neighbour Jay Rutland confirming publicly that the family visited nearby homes.
Concurrently, the main Royal Family X account (@RoyalFamily), which serves as the official digital communications channel for King Charles III and Queen Camilla, did not issue any Halloween messages.
The lack of social media activity regarding Halloween on the sovereign’s main channel is likely due to King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s official engagements overseas.
The King and Queen are currently conducting an official Royal Visit to Antigua and Barbuda as part of an autumn tour across Commonwealth nations in the Caribbean region.
LATEST ROYAL DEVELOPMENTS
The itinerary will conclude with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (Chogm) on November 3.
The King, who spent the last week in the Bahamas, followed by a solo State Visit to Guyana, carried out multiple official engagements, bilateral meetings, and public appearances.
Elsewhere in the Royal Family, Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex, Princess Eugenie, and Jack Brooksbank notably celebrated Halloween in 2016 by attending a private, post-apocalyptic-themed costume party together at Soho House in Toronto.
Other family members have occasionally stepped out for charity events in costume, such as Princess Beatrice attending a Unicef Halloween ball in 2016 wearing a lilac wig and unicorn horn.
Additionally, last year Meghan posted an Instagram Reel capturing a family trip to a pumpkin patch with Prince Harry, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet.
The video included clips of the Duke of Sussex carving pumpkins with Archie, Lilibet riding in a wooden cart pulled by Meghan, and the young Prince running through a corn maze.
