A car has crashed into the walls of Windsor Castle in a horror three-vehicle smash.
Pictures showed the front of a Volvo crumpled against the front of the royal residence, where King Charles and Queen Camilla often stay.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision, and the police and ambulances subsequently closed the road off at the area near the castle.
This crash comes as Princess Kate was pictured leaving Windsor Castle with Prince William on Monday afternoon.

She was attending a “private appointment” while William was going to the Commonwealth Day Service in London.
Windsor Castle was targeted in a protest last month by the anti-monarchy group Republic.
The group posted a photograph on social media of two of their members holding up a banner with the words “End Royal Secrecy” displayed.
The protest took place during the public opening hours and the protesters were paying ticket holders.

Over the weekend, there was an unrelated car crash at the gates of Buckingham Palace.
Armed police arrested the vehicle driver at the scene.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, the police rushed to the palace in London after reports of a “loud bang”.
The police surrounded the vehicle and arrested a driver after shouting: “Keep your hands on your head.”

The Met police released a statement confirming that the man had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
There was a similar incident outside Buckingham Palace in January 2023 when a car crashed into the palace railings.
The car crashed into the iron perimeter beside the Palace Canada Gate and burst into flames.
