Brooklyn Beckham left followers appalled this week after footage resurfaced of him preparing a tomato pasta dish by scooping water directly from the ocean while aboard a luxury yacht.
The 27-year-old aspiring chef reposted the clip, originally filmed last year, on TikTok on Thursday, using the opportunity to plug his hot sauce brand, Cloud 23, as he assembled the straightforward meal.
Controversy erupted online the moment viewers watched the eldest Beckham son lower a saucepan over the side of the vessel to gather seawater for boiling his pasta.
The stunt appeared designed to outshine his estranged father David, who has long harboured serious culinary ambitions of his own.

The former England captain attended a professional chef’s school during his time playing for AC Milan, undertaking a six-month course where he mastered fresh pasta, ragù and risotto.
Viewers wasted no time in ridiculing Brooklyn’s maritime cooking method in the comments section.
“Pasta water with a hint of burnt boat fuel, please sir,” joked one, while another simply remarked: “Bit dodgy the water.”
One commenter quipped: “Is there no beginning to his talents?”

The video attracted hundreds of comments, with the overwhelming consensus being that dipping cookware into the ocean was neither appetising nor advisable, regardless of how pristine the waters surrounding a multimillion-pound yacht might appear.
David himself spoke about his passion for Italian cuisine in an interview with The Times back in 2013.
“Funnily enough, when I lived in Italy, I took a six-month culinary course at a professional chef’s school and learnt to make real ragu and fresh pasta,” he said.

The father-son culinary rivalry plays out against a backdrop of deep family estrangement.
David and Victoria are presently cruising the South of France aboard their £16 million yacht alongside daughter Harper, son Romeo and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull.

Despite the Beckhams and the legendary musician sharing a friendship spanning more than three decades, with David fondly referring to him as “Uncle Elton,” the singer appeared to side with Brooklyn and Nicola, joining them for lunch on the sundeck.
The seawater cooking episode comes amid a wider pattern of Brooklyn and Nicola distancing themselves from the Beckham family.
The couple have allegedly decided to treat their August 2025 vow renewal, from which David and Victoria were pointedly excluded, as their true anniversary, effectively erasing their original April 2022 wedding.

Instead, both posted tributes on Instagram on Wednesday to mark the vow renewal anniversary.
Brooklyn described the 31-year-old actress as his “absolute princess,” while Nicola wrote: “Happy anniversary, my love, you make life so beautiful. Thank you for being the most amazing husband I could ever dream of.”
The roots of the family fracture were laid bare in Brooklyn’s explosive public statement earlier this year.
He revealed that Victoria had labelled him “evil” during the wedding planning process after he and Nicola chose to seat their respective grandmothers, both without husbands, at the couple’s table rather than his mother.
He also disclosed that family members told him the evening before the ceremony that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family”.
Most damagingly, Brooklyn accused Victoria of commandeering his first dance with Nicola.
He wrote: “In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.”
He described the experience as the most uncomfortable and humiliating moment of his life, explaining that the vow renewal was intended to replace “anxiety and embarrassment” with “joy and happiness”.
