McLaren has unveiled a new brand evolution as part of its rebrand to express “ambition, creativity and confidence”.
The British marque announced that it would be evolving its brand identity to pay homage to the past, present and future of the company.
McLaren explained that the new brand identity was rooted in the “vision and restless ambition” of its founder, Bruce McLaren.
Over its more than 60-year-history, McLaren has made racing breakthroughs and designed road cars that are meant to challenge convention.
With the new rebrand, McLaren will have a new roadmark inspired by the sign above the McLaren family’s service station in Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand.
This service station was owned by Bruce McLaren’s parents, Les and Ruth, and it was the start of Bruce’s car journey, which ultimately led to his first racing victory.
Similarly, the famous Speedmark will continue to “reflect the value of continuity and its enduring significance to fans around the world”.
Commenting on the new changes, David Woodhouse, chief creative officer at McLaren Automotive, noted that there was “something uniquely special about the brand.

He added: “Throughout our history, we’ve never been content to follow established paths. We’ve always looked ahead, driven by a restless desire to innovate, create and push beyond expectations.
“This evolution of our visual identity captures that spirit. It’s a reflection of the journey we are on as a company.
“It marks the beginning of a new chapter for McLaren, giving a physical expression to the ambition, creativity and forward momentum that is shaping our future.”
The new reveal follows several McLaren milestones over the last year, highlighted by the renewed focus on Bruce McLaren’s story.

McLaren also celebrated the M6GT as the brand’s first road car, followed by the 6GT as its contemporary vehicle with a focus on design and performance.
Lou McEwen, chief marketing officer at McLaren Racing, added that the evolved identity would bridge the gap between its proud heritage and bold future.
She said: “McLaren has evolved enormously over the years, but looking back through our shared history across Racing and Automotive, it’s poignant how much of Bruce’s original vision and spirit still runs through the business today.
“It celebrates the symbols and stories our fans, partners and teammates already know and love, while giving us a more connected expression of where we’re heading next. It feels unmistakably McLaren.”
