A road rage driver dubbed “Britain’s angriest man” has been sent to prison for six weeks after launching a foul-mouthed tirade at a mother with her newborn baby on a Bournemouth beach.
Peter Abbott, 62, became notorious after a viral video captured him screaming at a female motorist in a Tesco car park back in 2023.
Now, the self-employed translator from Bournemouth has been charged again after another explosive confrontation, this time on the promenade at Alum Chine beach in Dorset.
Abbott, who was banned from driving following his previous outburst, was cycling along the seafront when he collided with a woman’s dog on December 3 last year. Witnesses described what followed as “pure rage”.
The 62-year-old, dressed head to toe in lycra, dismounted his bike and immediately began hurling abuse at the woman walking her dog and pushing her pram.
Abbott then turned his fury on bystanders who tried to intervene, with one witness capturing the whole thing on camera.
In the footage, he can be heard screaming: “Shut the f*** up or I’ll kick you up the a***”, and when another man attempted to calm him down, Abbott branded him a “weed” and challenged him to a fight.
The confrontation escalated further when the man suggested Abbott should watch where he was going on his bike.

PA“I’m not f***ing finished!” Abbott shouted back before threatening to kick him.
The beach incident wasn’t Abbott’s first furious rant on the road.
Back in August 2023, he was filmed attacking motorist Samantha Isaac’s car after she beeped at him for pulling out in front of her in a Tesco car park.
The footage showed Abbott banging on her windscreen with his fists while calling her a “f****** tart,” a “b****” and a “whore”.
The shocking outburst landed him in court, where he was sentenced in May 2024, though he managed to get off with a suspended sentence, ordered to complete an anger management course and banned from driving.

But just months later, while still serving that suspended sentence, Abbott found himself in trouble again on the Bournemouth seafront.
The woman at the centre of the beach confrontation told Poole Magistrates’ Court she was left terrified by Abbott’s behaviour.
Prosecutor Laura Lohk said the victim described Abbott as “so aggressive” and noted “he wasn’t forming sentences that made sense.”
“It just seemed like pure rage,” the woman said.
Abbott’s defence lawyer, Katherine Toth, painted a different picture of events, claiming there were four or five dogs running around off their leads and out of control.
She told the court her client had been “struggling with loneliness and isolation” and was using cycling and yoga to cope, saying that he “regrets his decision to confront her and any other member of the public.”
“He clearly understands what he did was wrong,” Ms Toth added.
District Judge Orla Austin said: “This is another episode of rage taken out on the public. I’d like to know why he feels entitled to tell members of the public to shut the f*** up and shout and enrage at them.”
The judge acknowledged Abbott had completed his anger management course, but said the similarity between the two incidents was too significant to ignore.
Abbott admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour to cause fear, distress or alarm.
By committing this offence, he breached his suspended sentence, landing him behind bars for six weeks, and was ordered to pay £85 in prosecution costs.
