A two-year-old boy is dead after he was struck by a car at a school in outer Brisbane.
Queensland Police said the little boy died at the scene despite desperate attempts to save him.
Emergency services were called to the school in Durack on Thursday afternoon.
Police are at the scene of the incident and are speaking with a woman.
‘An investigation has commenced, and a woman is assisting police with their inquiries,’ police said in a statement.
The tragedy occurred at Durack State School on Inala Avenue in Brisbane’s outer-southwestern suburbs about 3.30pm.
The Courier Mail said it’s understood the boy was hit in the carpark of the school.
