Boy George has spoken out in Israel at the Nova Festival massacre site after the British icon was hit with furious Palestine backlash.

Speaking at a press conference, the pop star explained the Hamas-led October 7 massacre and the later denial of the terror attack inspired his song “We Will Dance Again”.

At the event, former hostage Omer Shem Tov paid tribute to Boy George for standing up for Israel amid furious backlash against his views.

Speaking at the press conference, the artist said the song “boiled down to conversations with his close Jewish friends in the UK”.

He said: “(It boiled down to) people I’ve known since I was 15, reconnecting online over this whole thing and realising: what has it got to do with them?

“It’s insane that they’re feeling so unsafe, powerless and frightened, and I just felt like I needed to say something.

“I’ve got a lot of beautiful friends, and I feel I can speak about them and tell the world that they’re beautiful people.

“Their appreciation has been really important to me and quite overwhelming, actually.”
