Two children were taken to hospital after being injured on the site

A five-year-old boy has died after a wall collapsed on him and a girl at an adventure golf course in south-east London.

Emergency services were called to Sidcup Family Golf, Chislehurst, at 17:40 GMT on Sunday to reports a child had been injured by a collapsing wall.

The boy was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition along with the six-year-old girl, who was also injured. He died in hospital on Tuesday, the Met Police said. The girl has since been discharged.

Sidcup Family Golf said: “We are deeply saddened to hear that the child injured on Sunday has tragically passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the child’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.”

“We are cooperating fully with the authorities as they continue their investigation and are providing every possible support to those affected by this tragedy,” a spokesperson for the golf centre added.

A spokesperson for Bromley Council said they were aware of the “desperately sad incident”.

“Our thoughts are with the family at this time. The police are currently investigating, and the council is liaising closely with them,” they said.

The Met Police said the boy’s family were being supported by specialist officers.

Inquiries were ongoing and officers were working the local health and safety inspector, the force added.
