A teenager is in hospital after he was stabbed in the leg near a tram stop in Manchester

A 15-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed in the leg.

Greater Manchester Police were called to the incident in Woodlands Road, close to the Abraham Moss tram stop, in Crumpsall Manchester at about 16:15 GMT.

The area has been cordoned off after the attack, with the teenager taken to hospital.

Officers remain at the scene, which has been taped off, while no further information has been released.
