Bolton Wanderers have signed Portuguese midfielder Ruben Rodrigues on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old has joined on an 18-month deal, with a club option of a further 12 months.

Rodrigues began his career in the Netherlands before moving to Notts County in 2020 where he scored 51 goals in 127 games. He joined Oxford United in June 2023 and scored 13 goals in 95 appearances, before a move Brazilian Serie A side EC Vitoria in the summer.

“Ruben is a player we have admired for some time,” head coach Steven Schumacher told the club website., external

“He has the technical ability to unlock defences and the experience of winning promotion from this league.”

Rodrigues becomes the sixth signing of the January window for Bolton, who are third in League One and travel to Wimbledon on Saturday.
