The body of a man has been discovered in the River Yare in the Norfolk Broads.

Officers were called after reports of a concern for the safety of a man in the water on a stretch of the river near Ferry Road, Surlingham at 2.33pm.

Norfolk Police said emergency services including fire, ambulance, air ambulance and coastguard attended before a search and rescue operation got under way.

Specialist equipment, including sonar, and a dive team were at the incident.
