The Big Brother house was forced to evacuate its housemates on Monday after a warning alarm was activated.
ITV bosses also had to cut off their live stream and play bird song while they worked on resolving the worrying incident which saw a fire alarm go off.
The feed airs from 11:30pm to 2am every night except Saturdays, allowing hardcore fans to get a glimpse of what the housemates are doing outside of the hour-long episodes.
But the real-time footage was cut for more than two and a half hours with no explanation.
Disappointed viewers were outraged as they were met with stock footage and bird sounds and took to social media to theorise the real reason for the strange incident.

But ITV bosses have now put viewers’ fears to rest and have confirmed the live-feed cut-off was a result of a fire alarm and all the housemates are safe and well.
An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘The housemates were evacuated from the house for a brief period yesterday after a fire alarm was activated.
‘The safety and security of our cast and crew is always of the utmost importance.’ According to PA news agency reports, there was no fire and no cause for concern during the incident.
‘The incident follows drama on Monday night’s episode that saw contestant Khaled accuse Ali of vilifying him, while Daze got emotional, after Khaled was forced to make a decision over the eviction nominations.’
But fans are not convinced by ITV’s explanation and instead think Ali, who is up for eviction this week, could have had a backdoor eviction, or even walked and quit the show.
‘I think Ali is trying to walk.’
‘Well…. sorry to say this but that was the worst live stream we’ve had. I really hope that tomorrow we find out what happened tonight. #BBUK.’
However, it’s been revealed that the speculation was misguided and instead the reason for the live feed being cut was due to a fire alarm being activated.

Viewers will have to wait until tonight’s episode airs to find out what happened when the live camera’s were off.
Taking to X, confused fans quipped: ‘Something inside me is telling me that Ali has actually left bc why is there no stream #bbuk’
‘The live stream has been down for the longest time all series tonight… despite nominations, head of house aftermaths and arguments being aired live over the last few nights.
‘I think we’re going in blind for the first time tomorrow and something big has happened! #BBUK’
‘Maybe Ali has walked and that’s the reason? If so then I wonder if Fridays eviction will be cancelled? #BBUK’
‘I think ali has left’
‘I’m actually really worried now.’
‘I’m watching the livestream and christ nothing…I think this is a sign Ali is gone 🙁 #bbuk’
‘100% Ali has left and they don’t wanna spoil it’
‘Surely there’s a reason as to why the livestream ain’t been on? #BBUK.’
