Ben Leo has launched a blistering attack on Green Party leader Zack Polanski, branding him a “dangerous village idiot” amid the escalating row over a social media post that has been reported to police by Reform UK.

Ben weighed into the controversy after Mr Polanski collaborated on, and later deleted, an Instagram post that included an image of a man wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “We’re only making plans for Nigel” above a guillotine.

Reform UK claims the image amounted to an incitement to violence against party leader Nigel Farage.

Responding on X, Ben wrote: “Polanski is a grade A loser.”

He continued: “CV includes trying to hypnotise women into growing their breasts.

“Now he heads a political party pretending to be a serious politician and incites violence against adversaries.

“A dangerous, village idiot who’s indicative of the country’s decline.”

The broadcaster’s remarks came after Reform UK formally reported Mr Polanski to the Metropolitan Police and called for an investigation into the social media post.

Sharing a screenshot of the image, Mr Farage wrote on X: “If I was to post anything as inciteful then I would expect to be arrested, and so should Polanski.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed officers are making enquiries.

A spokesman said: “We received a third-party report relating to an image shared on social media.

“We take reports of this nature extremely seriously, and officers are conducting enquiries into the matter.”

The Green Party said Mr Polanski ‘unequivocally does not support’ the image

The Green Party insisted the post was shared inadvertently after Mr Polanski accepted a collaboration request containing multiple images.

A party spokesman said that once the image was brought to his attention, he “immediately unshared the post” and “unequivocally does not support this type of dangerous message.”

The controversy has intensified as it comes just weeks after the killing of senior Reform UK figure Ann Widdecombe, prompting renewed debate over the safety of politicians.

Reform UK’s Home Affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf described the image as “incitement to murder”, arguing that sharing it so soon after Ms Widdecombe’s death was “staggering”.

Mr Polanski has previously spoken about concerns over the security of elected representatives, saying he had received threats himself and calling for increased protection for politicians.

Ben’s comments sparked a fierce debate online, with many backing his assessment.

One supporter wrote: “Utter disgrace of a man. After only recently what happened to poor Anne Widdecombe & vile Polanski posts this about a fellow politician.” (sic)

Another added: “I’d choose stronger words… the man is sinister and vile… what an abhorrent thing to post after a Reform Party member was so brutally murdered.”

Others, however, challenged Ben’s criticism.

One user pointed out: “The T-shirt doesn’t mention Farage at all; more than one person is named Nigel.”

Another disputed Ben’s reference to Mr Polanski’s past, writing: “He was once asked by a woman to try hypnosis to make her boobs bigger and he told her it wouldn’t work.”
