British-made drones are being used to strike targets in Russia for the first time.The drones, built by two separate British companies, have been used in mainland Russia in widespread and successful targeting of military and industrial targets, including refineries and warehouses of online retailer Wildberries. Families have been evacuated from their homes in two streets after a huge fire broke out at a neighbouring industrial building.The blaze, which has shot huge plumes of black and orange smoke into the sky, was spotted at just after 07:30 BST at a site off Wellington Road in Greenfield, near Oldham.Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said 45 homes had been evacuated in Wellington Road and Knoll Close, which backs on to the burning building. A cordon is in place and nearby roads have been shut while crews tackle the fire. People have been asked to avoid the area.

A murder inquiry has begun after the death of a man who was bitten by a dog on a footpath in West Yorkshire. The 55-year-old was injured in an altercation on a disused railway line off Blacker Lane in Calder Grove, Wakefield, at about 13:30 BST on Saturday. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died just after 19:00.
