A new study has revealed that four in 10 vehicles across Britain are operating with tyres that fail to meet safety standards or are perilously close to being illegal.The TyreCheck 2025 report, which examined over 58,000 vehicles at 141 sites nationwide, discovered that eight per cent of cars are fitted with tyres that fall below the statutory 1.6mm tread depth requirement.The National Tyre Distributors Association’s comprehensive analysis also identified that an additional 32 per cent of vehicles are equipped with dangerous tyres.While they are technically within legal parameters, they provide significantly compromised traction and safety performance, particularly during wet weather…
