Labour has been urged to introduce sweeping changes to a popular vehicle after reports found growing safety risks on UK roads.It comes after research revealed that e-scooter incidents peaked last year, with almost 1,400 people killed or seriously injured by the electric vehicles.This included one pedestrian who was killed, five riders, and 59 pedestrians seriously injured due to crashes with the fast vehicles. Electric vehicle (EV) sales in the UK hit a record high last month, according to the latest industry figures. Sales of pure battery electric vehicles (BEV) grew by almost a third to 72,779 in September, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers (SMMT), while sales of plug-in hybrid cars grew even faster. A gang of migrants have been jailed after they attacked a shop owner while wielding machetes.
