An Aussie man has taken to washing his face before bed to make sure he’s not dreaming after winning $1million in the lottery.
The Adelaide man checked his ticket to the Lott’s Weekday Windfall draw last Wednesday and found he had become a millionaire overnight.
The lucky Aussie from Brompton, in the city’s inner-north, told a Lott official he was still glowing after receiving the news.
He even admitted he couldn’t sleep after checking his ticket.
‘I checked my ticket last night just before bed and I wasn’t expecting it at all,’ the man said.
‘I didn’t believe it! I quickly went to the bathroom, washed my face and checked again. I had to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.’
‘I woke my wife and we both stayed up all night.’
The man said the money meant he could finally pay off his mortgage, adding the cash was ‘life changing’.

He revealed a strategy change helped seal him the huge sum.
‘I had favourite regular numbers that I’d been choosing for almost three years, but they never won anything so recently I’ve changed to buying QuickPicks,’ he said.
His 25-game entry was purchased through the lottery’s app.
The winning numbers were 20, 39, 42, 26, 5, and 25. His supplementary numbers were 36 and 17.
So far this year, 25 of The Lott’s 260 division one winners have been from South Australia.
The Weekday Windfall draw has seen 98 Australians become millionaires.
In that time there were 108 division one winning entries across Australia, winning a collective $107 million.
Across The Lott’s range of lottery brands including Powerball, Oz Lotto, and Set for Life more than 132.8 million winners have won over $4.4 billion in prize money.
