Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has come under fire today for “insulting” the British public by skipping GB News during his morning media circuit.

Despite appearing on the BBC, Sky, and ITV, Mr Miliband was notably absent from the People’s Channel.

Discussing this on The People’s Channel, Andrew Pierce said: “Miliband has done what we call the broadcast round this morning”.

“The BBC, Sky, ITV and others but he’s ignored GB News viewers and listeners”.

Miriam Cates said: “I can’t believe they’re still doing this. When GB News first started, there were lots of people on the left who wouldn’t come on the channel.

“But most of them do now because, even if they don’t like our views, they know they’re reaching many, many people who might potentially vote for them.”

Andrew added: “If you look at the viewing figures the last time we were on air, we had far more viewers than Sky News and even more than BBC News. And often, when you combine those two, we still have more.”

Miriam said: “We know that at the last election, the majority of GB News viewers actually did vote.

“Labour might think they’ve changed their minds now, but nevertheless, why aren’t Labour politicians coming on and sharing their side of the story?”

Andrew continued: “We shared last week that our radio listening figures have gone through the roof.

“This particular programme was up 81 per cent on the last quarter. So what Cabinet ministers are doing is insulting voters.”

Miriam concluded: “If Ed Miliband is listening, there’s a spare chair here. Ed, you’re welcome any time on the show. Come on and tell us about net zero.”

Speaking to reporters today, The Energy Secretary said he would have “absolutely zero interest” in being Prime Minister and also ruled out becoming Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Mr Miliband is currently the third favourite to take over from Sir Keir Starmer.

Asked about this on LBC, Mr Miliband replied: “Oh, God, no, don’t be ridiculous. I’m happy doing the job I’m doing.

“I am passionate about issues around climate change, and passionate about the opportunity as well for energy security and good jobs.”

He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “He is absolutely in this to lead our party into the next election, to change the country as he firmly and passionately believes in.

“That’s what he is about. He’s not walking away.”

He added: ““I tell you what angers Keir most about this country, it’s class. It’s the class divide.

“One of the things I’ve been talking about this whole period is saying more about that … He exists to change that.”

Mr Miliband added that the Prime Minister was “driven by burning passion about the injustice this country faces”.
