Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was this week spotted behind the wheel of a brand new £120,000 Range Rover Autobiography while travelling around the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The green luxury SUV, which was first registered in May, had not previously been seen being driven by the 66-year-old.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor now resides at Marsh Farm on the royal estate, having been compelled to leave the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor back in February.

The move represented a significant reduction in living arrangements for the former prince, who had occupied Royal Lodge for nearly two decades.

His ex-wife Sarah Ferguson was also removed from the Windsor property at the same time, ending their long residence there despite having divorced years earlier.

The hybrid electric vehicle boasts approximately 543 horsepower and is capable of covering up to 53 miles purely on battery power.

Under the bonnet sits a three-litre engine paired with an electric motor, combining traditional performance with modern efficiency.

Inside, the top-specification Autobiography trim includes leather upholstery and built-in massage functionality in the seats.

The cabin is further equipped with a premium audio system and a large touchscreen display for controlling the vehicle’s various functions.

At £120,000, the Range Rover sits firmly at the luxury end of the market, making it a notable choice for someone whose public profile has diminished considerably since being stripped of his royal titles last October.

Ms Ferguson, 66, has meanwhile spent the past seven months living between Switzerland and Austria following her departure from the UK. During that period, she was seen at a luxury spa in Austria costing £2,000 per night and at a chalet in Verbier previously owned by her late former partner Paddy McNally.

She is now understood to be planning an imminent return, with removal vehicles reportedly seen picking up her possessions from Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s Sandringham residence. Her new home is expected to be a six-bedroom property within a gated community in the Home Counties, at a monthly rent of £10,000.

A source close to Ms Ferguson told The Sun: “She’s had her eyes on a return for some time but it takes time to find the right new house.”

The timing of her move is thought to be deliberate, with a source telling The Sun that Ms Ferguson hopes to “slip back under the radar” while public attention remains focused on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent relocation from California with their children.

King Charles III removed the royal titles from both Mr Mountbatten-Windsor and Ms Ferguson last October, a decision prompted by sustained public pressure over the former duke’s connections to convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office before being released. He continues to be the subject of an active police investigation.

He has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Ms Ferguson had not set foot in the UK since the couple lost their titles, though her planned return could happen as early as Monday.

A source close to her told The Sun: “She hasn’t had to worry about accommodation for 20 years as she had Royal Lodge with Andrew. Now’s the right time to get back to her life.”
