Alex Kingston burst into tears as she looked back at her time on BBC Strictly on Monday evening.

During an appearance on the competition’s chat show, It Takes Two, the actress couldn’t contain her emotion before revealing a “secret”.

Ms Kingston and dance partner Johannes Radebe were voted off the show on Sunday after finding themselves in the dance-off alongside Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.

The judges opted to send home Ms Kingston, who had suffered an injury during training which impacted her performance on Saturday night.

The pair joined It Takes Two host Fleur East on Monday to reflect on their time on the show.

Per tradition, the show aired a highlights clip of Ms Kingston’s moments on and off the dancefloor, during which she broke down in tears.

“I wasn’t expecting that,” she admitted after as Ms East commented: “This show has clearly had a massive impact on you. Are you going to carry on dancing?”

“Well… I’d forgotten that Shirley called me ‘the queen,'” she shared with a smile.

She went on: “Because I consider Jojo to be the king on Strictly. And my friend’s little girl actually calls you Jo-highness.”

“Jo-highness! How have we never called you that before?” Ms East exclaimed.

“But I found out on Sunday, my husband said to me that he’d kept a secret from me,” Ms Kingston added.

“He’d been taking, for the last five weeks, Salsa lessons!”

Mr Radebe remarked: “Stop!” before she continued: “Yeah, so he’s been learning Salsa, so he can be my partner.”

“You’re going to break me, tonight,” Ms East admitted, clearly feeling emotional over the revelation.

“That’s so lovely. I just love what Strictly’s given to you.”

“Yeah, he realises how much this has meant to me, this journey, and he wants it to continue for me,” the actress went on.

Turning to Mr Radebe, she confessed: “But he also does want a few tips from you!”

“I love it. This friendship is going to continue to thrive,” Ms East pointed out.

Earlier in the show, Ms Kingston had insisted that after the Christmas period ends, she and Mr Radebe would be arranging frequent meet-ups to continue their strong friendship.
