A man from Afghanistan has been charged with sexually assaulting a child in Greater Manchester, GB News understands.

Hamed Mohamodie, 28, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on January 3 and was remanded into custody.


On Thursday, January 1, Greater Manchester Police were called following reports a child under the age of 13 had been sexually assaulted at a property in Hale.

Mohamodie will appear at Manchester Minshall Street Crown Court on Friday, February 6.

“A man has been charged with sexual assault of a child in Hale.

“Hamed Mohamodie (21/04/1997), Ashley Road, Hale, was charged with sexual assault of a child under 13 and remanded into custody.

“He appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Saturday January 3, 2026 and was remanded into custody to appear at Minshall Street Crown Court on Friday, February 6, 2026.

“On Thursday 1 January 2026 at 2.20pm, police were called following reports that a child had been sexually assaulted at a property in Hale.

“Due to the specific circumstances of this alleged offence, we do not believe there is a wider threat to the public.”

GB News has approached the Home Office for further information.
