The Metropolitan Police has warned that all protesters who attend a demonstration in support of Palestine Action in central London this weekend will be arrested.

Defend Our Juries – a campaign group which claims to oppose restrictions on civil liberties – has called on activists to take “mass action” outside the US Embassy on Saturday.

According to the group, hundreds of demonstrators will gather outside the building in Wandsworth, where they will hold up signs reading: “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action”.

Ahead of the planned protest, Defend Our Juries said: “Destroying the tools used to kill children is not terrorism; it is effective resistance to crimes against humanity.

“The proscription of Palestine Action is a huge attack on our democratic right to protest, especially in the midst of a genocide which our Government is participating in.

“We will not back down. We will not comply.”

In response, the Met Police has warned activists they face arrest if they attend the planned demonstration as part of a “robust policing operation”.

Since its proscription in June 2025, expressing support for Palestine Action is a criminal offence under the Terrorism Act.

Commander Adam Slonecki, who is leading Saturday’s policing operation, said: “All those intending on coming to this event know that supporting a proscribed organisation is unlawful – they are essentially meeting to purposefully commit a crime.

“The public would rightly expect us to be proactive and not just standby and wait for offences to be committed.

“I want to be clear – it is not just those who hold up placards who should expect to be arrested.

“Anyone officers consider to be playing a key role in organising the event, giving instructions to others and/or providing logistical support will very likely be committing an offence and face enforcement action.

“This is not about preventing people from expressing their views, but about acting robustly in cases where doing so involves criminality.

“These events also take significant police resources away from the neighbourhoods and communities where they are most needed.”

Mr Slonecki concluded by urging activists planning on attending the protest to “reconsider”.

Ahead of this weekend’s planned action, Defend Our Juries has issued guidance to demonstrators on signage and placarding, as well as advice on how to avoid being stopped by police en route.

The document tells protesters to “go floppy” if they are apprehended and refuse to hand their details over to officers.

The last Defend Our Juries demonstration took place outside the Labour Party Conference on September 27.

More than 250 activists were in attendance, with police arresting 50 people on suspicion of supporting Palestine Action.

In June, the Court of Appeal ruled the Government’s proscription of the organisation as a terror group was lawful.

Those convicted of being a member of, or supporting, Palestine Action can face up to 14 years in prison.
