“I just want to explain my situation. I was made a Traitor without wanting to be,” Mr Acaster told his fellow contestants, much to their surprise.
“I’ve had a unique experience on this that no one has had before, where I wanted to be a Faithful; that’s all I wanted to be. I couldn’t just go, ‘Guys, it’s me, vote for me.’ But that’s all I can do, really.”
The admission prompted all of his castmates to unanimously banish him from the roundtable.
Speaking to the BBC in his exit interview, Mr Acaster has now explained why he wanted to come clean, despite it being unorthodox for players. “I feel pretty good getting to episode nine, and now we’ve got a proper final on our hands,” the comic said when asked how it felt to leave.
