A 16-year-old boy has been found guilty of the attempted murder of a 15-year-old girl, whom he stabbed in the back at Thorpe St Andrew School in Norfolk.
The teenager, who cannot be identified because of his age, was found guilty at King’s Lynn Crown Court for the March attack.
He is set to be sentenced on December 18.
The prosecution said that the 16-year-old “went to school not to learn, but to kill” while armed with a kitchen knife.
He was also wearing a face mask, dressed in all black and was in possession of written notes detailing his hatred of women, the court heard.
Prosecutor Chris Paxton KC said the teen had an “obsessive and dangerous interest in killers and killing”.
Jurors sat for three hours and 54 minutes before finding the youth guilty by a majority verdict.
The moment when the victim was stabbed was caught on CCTV, showing her attacker then fleeing while being “pursued by a teacher”.
Speaking to the jury, the 15-year-old girl described telling a teacher, “Sir, I’ve been stabbed”, after the attack.
She was quickly rushed to hospital with a minor injury.
Mr Paxton said it was “sheer good fortune” that the “defenceless and vulnerable” girl was not more seriously injured.
“This was a knife strike delivered, we the prosecution say, as an attempt to kill,” he added.
Thorpe St Andrew School went into lockdown after the incident, with armed response police rushing to the scene.
The boy, who was 15 at the time, had previously admitted to possessing a kitchen knife without lawful authority and wounding with intent.
Jurors heard that he sent his mother a message saying “I’m sorry” shortly after the attack.
“I was in complete shock,” she told the court.
