Romeo Beckham shares kiss with male co-star as trailer for acting debut in steamy tennis drama Forty Love released

Mr Kircher portrays Sacha Gallo, a tennis prodigy who has spent years training alongside his father to claim a major title in Paris.

His carefully curated world is thrown into chaos by the emergence of a magnetic new competitor, played by Mr Beckham.

The film’s synopsis describes this unexpected challenge as “a force as exhilarating as it is destabilising, and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”

The trailer offers a glimpse at Mr Beckham’s debut acting role and of the dynamic between the two characters.

In one exchange, Mr Beckham’s character declares: “It’s not my fault if you’re f***ing in love with me!” He also warns his rival: “Sleep with your eyes open, I’m coming for you.”

Beyond the steamy sequences, the plot also takes a darker turn. One moment shows Mr Beckham’s character unconscious as Mr Kircher’s Sacha drags him into a hotel room, before the French star’s character announces: “I think I killed him!”

Mr Beckham’s girlfriend Kim Turnbull appeared to back his new career venture, liking the trailer on social media and leaving supportive emojis in the accompanying comment section.

The ensemble cast also includes legendary actress Catherine Deneuve, as well as Guillaume Canet and Benjamin Voisin.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of acclaimed fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, who co-wrote the screenplay with Gaëlle Macé.

Filming took place in some of France’s most glamorous locations, including Monaco, Cannes and Paris.

Acting hasn’t been Mr Beckham’s first love, however. The 24-year-old has attempted to follow in his father’s footsteps in the footballing world previously, as well as in the modelling industry.

He has since walked runways and fronted campaigns for Versace, Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, and in 2026 launched his own retro streetwear label, Intra.

Reaction to the trailer has been mixed. “Didn’t expect Romeo Beckham to jump into acting with a French indie romance, kind of curious to see if he can pull off the tennis scenes,” one apprehensive X user typed.

Meanwhile, a second was more on board with the idea: “Romeo Beckham being a tennis player is honestly the most natural casting choice ever.”

Another similarly praised: “It’s giving Heated Rivalry meets Challengers meets Saltburn and I’m SO HERE FOR IT.”

However, others hit out: “I’ve watched Victoria Beckham in Spiceworld and I’ve watched David Beckham in a film about King Arthur and I’m not sure I can take any more Beckhams.” (sic)

While Mr Beckham will undoubtedly receive the support of his famous parents as he embarks on the new career path, there’s one member of the Beckham family who’ll likely not be watching.

Brooklyn Beckham, the eldest of Sir David and Lady Victoria’s children, has severed ties with his family following a bombshell public statement in January.

The eldest Beckham child has distanced himself from “Brand Beckham” after a series of alleged disputes involving his wife, Nicola Peltz, and his family.

The budding chef has insisted that his family only contact him via solicitors as he continues his career as a budding chef and hot sauce creator in California.
