Two international paparazzi photographers were spotted outside the school where Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are pupils, according to US media.

The pair, who were not from the British press, appeared to be operating together as a coordinated team, spotted by the Sussexes’ security personnel.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s protection detail recorded the registration plate of the vehicle the photographers were using, though it turned out to be a rental car, according to Newsweek.

The Sussexes’ spokesman declined to comment when contacted by GB News.

The incident, which took place on Monday, will likely have heightened concerns for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who relocated to Britain in August.

Their global fame means overseas photographers could potentially capture images of the children for sale in foreign markets, circumventing British privacy and anti-harassment legislation.

The British media have not published the name of the children’s school or the precise location of the couple’s home, beyond reporting that it is near the Cotswolds.

This discretion stems partly from a formal request the Sussex team submitted to the Independent Press Standards Organisation, asking for privacy around both the family residence and the school.

No paparazzi photographs from the school have surfaced in any publication.

Earl Charles Spencer, Harry’s uncle and Diana’s brother, has spoken about the transformation in British press behaviour since the era when his sister was relentlessly pursued by photographers.

Speaking to CNN, Earl Spencer said: “The general conduct of the press, you know, even the worst editors at the time who were paying the paparazzi to pursue Diana even into that final tunnel in Paris, they learned something years later.

“And some of them have actually confessed, they know they had a hand in her death. Now, that’s quite a big thing to live with and I think it did change the behavior, and it’s not as bad now.”

He also described how photographers in Diana’s time would hurl vile insults at her in public to provoke a shocked expression they could then sell, claiming she was unravelling: “I don’t think that happens anymore in London.”

Earl Spencer has also voiced sympathy for the couple more broadly. Speaking to Canada’s CBC, he said: “I don’t care how famous someone is, you cannot justify vicious personal attacks. It’s not OK. Diana suffered it. I see Harry and Meghan suffered it.”

The Sussexes have been back in Britain for just over a month, and their life so far has yielded more imagery through Meghan’s own Instagram posts than from any paparazzi lens.

Her friend Kelly McKee Zajfen also shared photographs from a visit to a Cotswolds pub, which has since been identified as The Falkland Arms in Great Tew.
