Chancellor John Healey has confirmed that iconic British manufacturer Rolls-Royce will invest £300million into the UK.
Speaking at Labour Party Conference, Mr Healey said the funding would go to its manufacturing bases in Derby, Bristol, Glasgow, Warwickshire and Rotherham.

He highlighted how industrialisation has boosted Rolls-Royce’s Derby factory, which produces nuclear reactors.
Mr Healey added: “Conference, this is the new age of industrialisation. This is the new confidence in Britain.
Lit by this Government, driven forward by business. So, don’t tell me it’s not possible to create a new age of British industry.
“Don’t tell me it’s not possible to have good growth in every postcode. And don’t tell me that people can’t hope again.”
Rolls-Royce said the investment would ensure the brand’s UK infrastructure can meet manufacturing demand and support the development of future aerospace programmes.

Since 2023, Rolls-Royce has invested more than £3billion into the UK through R&D, engineering programmes and upgrades to its facilities.
Its Inchinnan plant in Glasgow will receive £43million to introduce machinery to create new engine components.
A further £19million will be invested at its Advanced Blade Casting Facility in Rotherham, backed by £2million from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.
Rolls-Royce hopes the increased capability and productivity will double its output of advanced turbine blades for jet engines. This is expected to be completed by 2030.
