Drivers are facing delays on part of the M61 after reports of a crash.

All lanes on the southbound side of the motorway have been blocked.

Traffic is at a standstill between junction eight at Chorley, Lancashire, and junction six for Horwich, Bolton, Greater Manchester, according to Inrix.

Vehicles are backed up for four miles between Limbrick and Grimeford Village.
