One of the fastest-growing car brands has announced a major product offensive to build on its impressive first year in the UK.
Chery will launch four new and refreshed models over the next 12 months to expand its UK offering, just over a year after its launch.
Since entering the UK market in August last year, Chery has already achieved more than 29,000 registrations and achieved a market share of more than 2.5 per cent.
So far this year, Chery has recorded 23,571 new sales, worth 1.7 per cent of the market and achieving a staggering 181,000 per cent growth in year-on-year sales.
This places it comfortably ahead of some established brands such as Citroen, Fiat, Honda, Mazda, Porsche and Seat.
In a bid to continue the impressive sales totals, Chery has announced that it will launch four new and refreshed models over the next year, including its first electric vehicle.
It has yet to reveal any information on its first electric vehicle, although its international offering could hint at what will be unveiled in the UK.
In addition to its Tiggo range of vehicles, Chery also sells its Arrizo line of mid-size sedans and its Himla pick-up trucks.

Chery offers models that look similar to the Omoda 5, one of its sister brands, in addition to the sleek eQ7, which is currently available in China.
The new electric car will be joined by enhancements to the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) system currently offered across the full line-up of Tiggo 4, 7, 8, and 9.
Chery said this would feature larger battery packs offering more electric range and reduced fuel consumption and emissions.
Commenting on the introduction of Chery to the UK market, managing director Farrell Hsu said the performance of the brand had “exceeded our expectations”.

The MD added that the whole Chery team was proud of its first year on the market and the impressive impact it has already made.
He continued, saying: “We also know how competitive the UK market is, and that’s why we’ll be launching four new and enhanced models over the next 12 months – including our first EV and upgraded Chery Super Hybrid vehicles.
“The investments we’re making in electrification will ensure that we continue to build our brand, appeal to even more customers than before, and ensure our long-term strategic growth.”
At present, 75 per cent of Chery’s UK sales come from vehicles with the Chery Super Hybrid technology built-in.

The Wuhu-based automaker suggested that the sales record indicated strong support for electrified powertrains from the brand.
Chery’s sister brands have also made a huge impression on the UK car market, with Jaecoo and Omoda quickly cementing themselves among the best-selling brands.
Between January and the end of August, Jaecoo has sold 43,591 new models, while Omoda has recorded 24,380 new registrations.
The Jaecoo 7 is the UK’s third-best-selling model so far this year, with its popularity linked to its affordable price and impressive range, while others have described it as the “Temu Range Rover” for its exterior.
