The Duke of Sussex has been confirmed as a participant in the Clinton Global Initiative 2026 gathering, scheduled for September 22 to 23 in New York City.
The announcement, made on Thursday, raises the prospect of Prince Harry making his first known journey back to America since he relocated to Britain alongside Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, at the end of August.
Should the 41-year-old attend the event in person, it would mean a transatlantic trip barely a month after the family arrived in the UK.
Whether he will be physically present or join remotely has not yet been confirmed, though his previous participation at the CGI in 2024 was an in-person appearance.

The theme of this year’s gathering is “How Do We Get It Right?”, which, according to organisers, sets out “an affirmative vision for the future amidst rising turmoil, division, and continued cuts to government funding.”
Former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton are convening the meeting.
The Duke will be joined by a roster of prominent figures from the worlds of philanthropy, business and Government.
Among the confirmed participants are model and activist Chrissy Teigen, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, former Foreign Secretary David Miliband and actress Carey Mulligan.

At the 2024 summit, Harry delivered a notable address on the dangers the digital world poses to young people, appearing as a featured guest during a 90-minute session titled Everything Everywhere All At Once.
During his time on stage, he displayed a photograph from his phone’s lock screen showing his children, Archie, now seven, and Lilibet, five.
His remarks carried a stark warning: “I stand before you today to speak about the pervasive threat that our online world poses to us, especially our children.”
He added: “If we allow the status quo to remain in an age where our lives are intertwined with technology, we cannot afford to only see the online world as a space for profitability, competition, and rapid growth instead.”

The announcement comes against a backdrop of heightened tensions with the Palace.
On Monday, a letter dispatched on King Charles’s behalf by the Lord Chamberlain instructed senior Government and military figures to regard Harry and Meghan as “private citizens.”
The couple said they were “caught off guard” and “surprised” by the communication, which reached them at 1.59pm, roughly an hour before the media were informed at 3.06pm.
Harry, who was photographed at Tower Bridge Studios in London that day, was not contactable until 3.09pm.
In the aftermath, Uganda’s military chief declared the country would pull out of Harry’s Invictus Games over what he called “Harry and Meghan nonsense.”
It is understood that the Duke spoke directly with his father during his first week back in Britain, though no details have been disclosed.
