Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank, the newborn daughter of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, has yet to appear on the official line of succession published on royal.uk, more than a fortnight after her arrival on August 3.

Princess Eugenie shared her daughter’s name on Monday, yet the royal website still shows no sign of an update.

Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh continues to be displayed as 15th in line, directly following Adelaide’s older brother, Master Ernest Brooksbank.

The omission persists despite a full day having elapsed since the name announcement and over two weeks since the birth itself.

GB News has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.

Eugenie, who sits 12th in the line of succession, used social media to unveil the name, describing it as a tribute to three cherished figures.

“Named after three people we love and admire past and present, including her Great-Grandmother who we hold close in our hearts,” she wrote.

The princess also highlighted the significance of the name’s roots, noting: “Her name is part of English and Portuguese history, two places we love and call home.”

Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank welcomed their third child in Portugal, where the couple have established a home. She described the period since the birth as “the most special, cosy and love-filled time.”

Adelaide’s birth places her 15th in the order of succession to the throne, which means the Duke of Edinburgh should drop to 16th, a change not yet reflected on the official website.

The baby will not carry the style of Her Royal Highness.

She is also the late Queen Elizabeth II’s 15th great-grandchild and the third to be born since the monarch died in 2022.

Adelaide is additionally the fifth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, arriving after Princess Beatrice’s daughter Athena Mapelli Mozzi, who was born in January of last year.

Adelaide is the couple’s first daughter, joining older brothers August and Ernest. Eugenie noted on Instagram that “Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers.”

The birth marked an unusual occasion in royal history, as it took place overseas, the family having settled partly in Portugal, where they maintain a residence alongside other connections to the country.

Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank first met in 2010 after being introduced by mutual friends. The couple later received the Queen’s blessing for their marriage during a visit to Balmoral in 2016.
