A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and dangerous driving after three pedestrians were hit by a car following reports of a disturbance.
The incident happened on Stokes Croft in Bristol at about 06:30 BST, according to Avon and Somerset Police.
A spokesperson for the force said one of the pedestrians was taken to hospital, but their injuries were “not believed to be as serious as initially thought”. The two others were not seriously injured.
A man police believe to be the car’s driver was treated for facial injuries after his arrest.
Thomas Street, Hepburn Road, Stokes Croft and City Road are all closed while police make enquiries, with more officers than usual in the area as investigations continue.
The Best Off Licence in Stokes Croft was also damaged in the incident.
Bristol Supt Matt Ebbs said: “We would like to assure the public we do not believe there to be any wider threat.
“Anybody with concerns is welcome to speak to officers on the ground, but we would also appeal to anybody with CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage which may assist our enquiries to contact us.”
