Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have welcomed their third child, a baby girl born on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the arrival in an official statement, stating that the baby was born at 6:20pm at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing six pounds and nine ounces.

However, as of August 6, 2026, the official website of the British Monarchy, royal.uk, has not updated its published line of succession list to include the newborn child.

The omission on the official website coincides with the couple not yet publicly releasing their daughter’s name.

Formal updates to the Royal Family’s online succession registry are typically made following the public announcement of a newborn child’s full name.

Previous additions to the official website roster, including those for Princess Beatrice’s children and Princess Eugenie’s elder sons, were listed on royal.uk after their names were formally declared by the parents and Buckingham Palace.

As of the current website listing, Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank, occupies the 12th position in line to the British throne.

She is followed directly by her two elder sons, Master August Brooksbank at 13th position and Master Ernest Brooksbank at 14th position.

Following the Brooksbank family, The Duke of Edinburgh holds the 15th position, the Earl of Wessex holds the 16th position, The Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor holds the 17th position, and The Princess Royal holds the 18th position.

Upon her inclusion on the website, the new baby girl will take the 15th spot in the line of succession, directly behind her elder brother, Ernest.

Her entry will move all subsequent individuals on the published roster down by one rank.

Consequently, Prince Edward will move to 16th position, James will move to 17th position, Lady Louise will move to 18th position, and Princess Anne will move to 19th position.

LATEST ROYAL DEVELOPMENTS

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed a baby girl on Monday evening at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, making the newborn just the third member of the British Royal Family to arrive on foreign soil in over a hundred years | JACK BROOKSBANK

The remaining positions, including Peter Phillips at 20th, Savannah Phillips at 21st, Isla Phillips at 22nd, and Zara Tindall at 23rd, will also shift down accordingly.

The upper positions of the line of succession remain unchanged by the birth.

The Prince of Wales stands first in line, followed by Prince George of Wales in second, Princess Charlotte of Wales in third, and Prince Louis of Wales in fourth.

The Duke of Sussex ranks fifth, followed by Prince Archie of Sussex in sixth, Princess Lilibet of Sussex in seventh, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in eighth, Princess Beatrice in ninth, Miss Sienna Mapelli Mozzi in tenth, and Miss Athena Mapelli Mozzi in eleventh.

The newborn is the ninth grandchild of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, and a great-niece of King Charles.

She is the newest addition to the Royal Family following the birth of Princess Beatrice’s second child, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, in January 2025.

Under long-standing royal custom, the newborn does not hold a royal title or the style of Her Royal Highness.

Under British royal rules, titles pass down through the male line, meaning children born to royal princesses do not inherit titles unless explicitly granted by the monarch.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank married at St George’s Chapel in October 2018 and welcomed August in 2021 and Ernest in 2023.
